MJ's Lamp Shrine

Welcome to my Lamp Shrine!

What Lamp means to me:

I'm not sure how long I've listened to Lamp, but I do know that Lamp has been the soundtrack to my loveliest days and gloomiest nights. Lamp's melancholic and romantic lyrics are always accompanied by matching melodies.

It's difficult to box Lamp's music into a genre. Online, they're labeled as Shibuya Kei. I'd describe them as having a sound that's reminiscent of bossa-nova at times, but also a jazzy rock. I recently saw Lamp open for Mitski. Although I would've loved to go to one of their headlining shows - I'm thankful I was able to see them perform. I spend a lot of time listening to music, so it's always magical to see and hear treasured bands perform live.

These are a couple of pictures I took at the concert. I saw them in Detroit. I was fortunate enough to be given a ticket by someone that no longer wanted to attend. Because I live in Detroit, getting to the venue wasn't difficult either.
